Shortly after waking up I suddenly realise i am supposed to be driving 500 miles on a bank holiday to try and move a tonne of aircraft from one end of the country to the other.... this is going to be a long day!
I decided to try and rope some mates in to come on the trip who agreed until they realised what i had in store... funnily enough no one was available, and the other 3 in the sim group were working... great...
5 minutes later im at my Dads house asking "do you fancy coming on a bit of a roadtrip to blackburn...."
Dad: "Am I going to have to do anything?"
Me: "no ive got the recovery guy coming along, we will just watch him drag it on the truck, job done and drive home"
Dad: "Oh ok they ive got nothing better to do"
What a mistake that was!!
After a 5 hour drive we eventually arrive in Blackburn to find a very bemused looking recovery driver.....
Turns out there was no way we would be able to move the sim using the original method of winching it onto a recovery truck due to lack of space and the angles involved!
Brilliant... down the road to hire a low trailer.... an hour later we return....
After plenty of swearing, shoving, towing, pushing, hanging off the side of the cockpit and after breaking a garden light and a letter box when the cockpit fell up against a house we got the sim nearly on the trailer....
It then suffered a few wounds when it got stuck on the trailer... eventually we were on the trailer and secured...
It was now 5pm on a Bank holiday Friday!...
